Congratulations to Kanoa Nakamura, MBTA’s reigning elementary school Geography Bee champion for 2008. Kanoa has won our school Geography Bee for the past two years and he recently placed 9th in the state-wide Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society. He still has two years left to compete in the same division and he keeps getting better. After skipping a grade in elementary school, Kanoa is one of the youngest competitors in the event, but hours of study/play with a fun geography computer program paid off well. He will win that trip to the National Geography Bee and the scholarship prize one of these years.
