Congratulations to the MBTA Speech and Debate Team! Seven students represented MBTA at the Parker Speech and Debate competition, the first state-qualifier tournament of the season, on January 13-14.
Three students qualified for the state tournament in April: Taylor Thibodeaux (2nd place, impromptu speaking), Julia Shotwell (2nd place, public forum debate), and Kalena Exner (2nd place, public forum debate). Congratulations to the team!
Congratulations to the MBTA Debate Team for their incredible performance at the Kahuku Non-Qualifying Debate Tournament this Saturday, November 12. Jacob Croall, Kalena Exner, Haley Jernaill, Julia Shotwell, Thomas Stokes, and Segan Trunick were all recognized for their impressive “superior performance” at the awards ceremony based on their debate round wins. Although a minimum of five teams is required for formal tournament recognition, MBTA’s three teams also had the largest percentage of wins out of any other school at the tournament. Well done and congratulations!
